[Hshhhhhh in the familiar- or perhaps not so familiar hiss of static, the camera reels click to life. What begins as a blob of color takes it's place at the center of the screen; slowly but surely the video's subject comes into focus-- upside down]
“On you go~... Wait- that's not-” [Right side up-- Jet grins, perhaps a little too close, seeing as the stick in his mouth alone takes up 60% of the frame to fit in the frame]
“--irst off, if you're watching; turn off your communic--”
[The video skips- cutting to the freedom fighter finally in proper frame. He chews somberly, eyes cast off screen at nothing in particular.]
“...Been thinking a lot about death lately. Someone suggested I should leave some kind of message behind, in case the worst should happen. Since the Consortium'll likely rifle through my stuff, this was the safest bet I could think of. So here goes. I'm sure you don't mind, Maka~”
[And if you do? That charming smirk he's giving should win your heart over; at least for a moment.]
"Axel- Don't go taking crap from anyone... especially me. If I come back and I don't remember you? Gimme a good punch, you hear? I know I don't need to tell you to take care of Rox. Never give up the good fight, Ax.”
"Never forget what you fight for, Suki. Even if I go, I know the Consortium won't be forgetting the proud spirit of Earth Warriors anytime soon. Be sure to keep in the fire Nation in line for me. I still think you are a bit too good for Sokka, but what do I know? Watertibe definitely had a good thing going with you.”
"Alex. I don't like you, and I don't think I'll ever forgive you... but you're not a monster. They used to call me that back home, too. So... thanks, for before. I guess.”
[Awkward pause. He expects you know what event he is thankful for. Erhem! moving on]
"Darc, Allen, never got to know you that well, but you guys were always great in my book. I owe you for all the times you-- [Hshhh] -eep o--"
[HAAA--shhhhhHH. The video grow increasingly fuzzy, the barest remnants of a whispered message breaking through.]
----dwaker- "--leight of-- [Hshhh] Wild- There's a good chance if they terminate me, they know something is up, and they're scared by it. If they're taking me out, you could be next. Keep close ey--[Hshhh--] House wins.”
[And just when it seems the static is overwhelming once more, the video begins for a final third time. A new secluded location. Oddly silent]
"Maka.."
[He looks down a moment. His hand hesitantly wavers back towards the camera's off button. Jet reconsiders.]
"Maka...I never wanted this. You know, If this actually happens. It's just kind of how things work around here. We always knew this was a possibility, but that didn't stop you staying with me; I'll never forget that. If someone from my world ever... whatever you may hear- you knew the real me, and that's the truth. I became the person I am today because of you. You were my second chance, Maka. I wouldn't trade that for anything.”
[blllp]
“That's... it I guess. Heh. You'd think about forty something of these I'd be a pro at making them by now. So.. yeah now how do I turn this thing o--”
